The day Karen was there for Bambi

Breast Health

You exercise. You eat right. You're a healthy woman with no family history of cancer. But now you're sitting there as your doctor tells you, you have a tumor in your breast. The next few minutes are a blur. Now what? How do I tell my family? What about a second opinion? What was that word again?

It happened just that way for Bambi Hitchcock. But immediately after her diagnosis, she got a call from Karen Jacobs, Certified Breast Health Navigator at Beverly Hospital's Breast Health Center. From day one Bambi has relied on their unique, ongoing relationship. Karen answers her questions and explains things in simple terms. They cry together, they laugh together. And these days, there's a lot more of the latter.

A breast cancer diagnosis can be confusing, not to mention very scary. But it's reassuring to know there's a great hospital you can depend on, close to home. And at least one very special shoulder to lean on, every day.
