Overview

Northeast Health System, Inc. (NHS) is an integrated healthcare system comprised of a network of hospitals, behavioral health, long-term care and human service affiliates offering North Shore residents general and specialized medical care.

 

Northeast Hospital Corporation (NHC) represents the acute care hospitals – Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester; BayRidge Hospital (psychiatric) in Lynn; and Beverly Hospital in Beverly.  There are three outpatient facilities – Beverly Hospital at Danvers, Medical and Day Surgery Center; Beverly Hospital Hunt Center in Danvers; and Beverly Hospital Cable Center in Ipswich.

 

Addison Gilbert Hospital is a full-service, 58-bed medical/surgical acute care facility.  The hospital provides inpatient and outpatient care to residents of the Cape Ann community in specialties such as cancer care, surgical day care, critical care and emergency medicine.

 

BayRidge Hospital provides accessible, high-quality mental health and substance abuse treatment. The 62-bed hospital offers a continuum of psychiatric and chemical dependency services on an inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient basis.   Coordination of care between Beverly Hospital’s psychiatric services, the Leland Unit, and BayRidge Hospital assures the provision of a range of acute inpatient services to individuals suffering from psychiatric disabilities.

 

Beverly Hospital is a full service, 221-bed, community hospital providing quality, patient-centered care to North Shore and Cape Ann residents.  Services include maternity, pediatrics, surgical, orthopedics, cardiology, as well as several other specialties.  The hospital has a medical staff of more than 570 physicians and its service area includes some 13 communities.  Beverly Hospital has been nationally recognized by Thomson as a 100 Top Hospital five times in the past seven years.

 

Beverly Hospital at Danvers, Medical and Day Surgery Center is an outpatient facility with state-of-the-art care centers and specialty services.  The facility includes multidisciplinary centers for Breast Health, Cardiovascular, Infectious Disease, Pain Management, and Spine care among others.  The Day Surgery Center has four operating rooms featuring the latest in minimally invasive technologies for all types of conditions.  The Lifestyle Management Institute offers several comprehensive programs designed to address healthy options for individuals coping with chronic conditions. 

 

Beverly Hospital Hunt Center houses the Center for Healthy Aging, which is a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic, focused on meeting the healthcare needs of seniors by providing the highest level of care to patients by utilizing the best practices in the field of geriatrics. The clinical staff at the Center for Healthy Aging includes board-certified geriatricians, psychiatrists, internists, clinical nurse specialists and social workers.  Also on the campus is the Sleep Disorder Center utilizing state-of-the-art medical equipment, along with a specially trained and qualified staff, available to assist in the proper diagnosis and treatment of assorted sleep disorders.

 

Beverly Hospital Cable Center provides laboratory and diagnostic radiology services to residents of Ipswich and its surrounding communities.

 
The behavioral health services are represented by two organizations, CAB Health & Recovery Services, Inc. headquartered in Peabody and Health and Education Services, Inc. (HES) in Beverly.  Together they are one of the biggest providers of behavioral health services for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts offering several programs that extend from the Merrimack Valley to the North Shore.

 

CAB Health & Recovery Services, Inc. provides a comprehensive range of substance abuse treatment and recovery services, including inpatient and outpatient care, specialized teen programs, community education, street outreach and prevention.

 

Health & Education Services, Inc. (HES) focuses on underserved populations to provide outpatient mental health; substance abuse and psychopharmacologic services; community support services; child and adolescent residential and school services; and community prevention services.

  

Northeast Senior Health provides a complete continuum of care for seniors.   The Center for Healthy Aging offers seniors a multidisciplinary outpatient treatment center and an array of diagnostic services.  It also has assessment programs in memory loss, balance and risk of falls, incontinence, palliative care, and driving ability. 

 

Additional senior services include skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation through Ledgewood and Seacoast.  Assisted living is provided through The Herrick House and Heritage at Danvers.  Home care is coordinated through North Shore PRN and Northeast Homecare; adult day services for people living with Alzheimer’s through the Spectrum Adult Day Health Center, personal emergency response service through Lifeline, community care management through NortheastLink and educational programs through Senior Outreach.
