At the Beverly Hospital Breast Health Center, patients receive the personal attention of a Certified Breast Health Navigator (CBHN), one of less than 20 professionals with this certification in Massachusetts.

 

The role of the Certified Breast Health Navigator is to guide the newly-diagnosed woman with breast cancer and her family through the process of their cancer care.  This includes providing education and information regarding diagnostic tests and procedures, as well as treatments.  The CBHN also performs comprehensive assessments on patients in preparation for the Multidisciplinary Physician Case conference, so as to insure that the team has the most important and current information available to them when developing an individualized, specific cancer treatment plan.

 

The CBHN is available to women with breast cancer and their families for educational, informational, and emotional support.  The CBHN also offers guidance and care throughout the entire diagnostic, treatment, and recovery process.  And our Breast Health Navigator is certified in teaching clinical breast exams.
